Ration Card needed?

Do my parents have to carry ration card for the interview..
the information in the card is not accurate..it still has me listed as a member even though I reside in US.

Its not mandatory. But there are cases where the VO has asked for Rationcard to verify names. If still yr name is there, its a good thing. Yr parents can explain that my son will come back soon from US. And only for that reason we havent removed him from Rationcard (something like that). They can tell that once name is removed its difficult to enter it again.
