Visitor visa without Employment letter

I want to sponser my friend along with her 5 yr old son on visitor visa for a month or two. I have been working for past 10 yrs on US but not for last 2 months and am in between jobs right now. I do however have some $200K in bank that I can show as the reason why I can easily support her when her is here. I do not have a source of regular income to show however. Will she get a visa without it or there is no point me sending her papers without enployment letter.
