Visa approved on 3rd attempt for Mother :)

Hi,

My mothers visa got approved on 3rd attempt. She has taken a telugu interview. FYI, my mother was rejected based on 214B last two times. To what I understand, the main thing that made a difference this time is, the VO read through the letter that I have written to the consulate. The VO was considerate to understand the case. Last two times she was not given enough time to present her case well. So, getting B2 visa is not completely impossible. If we keep trying, luck might favor us

How much time apart did she attended all the 3 interviews and could you pls tell me about what did you write in the cover letter? what questions did they ask her in the interview ? My parents visa got rejected recently in chennai. I am planning to send them this time with cover letter. Thank you in advance.

The letter was addressed to the VO. I have written bulleted points describing my mothers intent to return to India after the visit, also showing that she is financially independent. I have writtten a similar letter even during the 2nd attempt. Unfortumately, the VO did not read it that time.

In the previous attempt, she was waiting for the VO to ask questions. Couple of un-anticipated questions and her visa got rejected. This time she pro-actively presented her case. When she submitted her application form she put forward the letter I have written and asked the VO to kindly read it.

My Moms visa got rejected 1st time in Feb 2006, 2nd time Feb 2007 and 3rd time got approved in Apr 2007. Between the second and the 3rd there is 2 months gap.

When she handed your letter to the VO, did she convey the message in English or Telugu. The reason I am asking is since she took a translator, Is it o.k to speak to VO in English, Is there any chance that they question back saying though you know english why you took telugu translator.
