I want my mother to visit us here in USA.I am her daughter and I am married. My brother is also here in the USA doing his masters. My mother is a widow.Since both me and my brother are here in the US and since she is a widow will her visitors visa be rejected? Will she be considered as someone who might stay bac even though she has no such intention?Should she mention that my brother is also here or just say he is in India when she goes for interview??

    Thank you.

Yes, indeed your mom stands a very great chance of having her visa rejected... First, she should not lie about your brother, my might check the system for last names and if they find out would be just worse. Secondly, since your mom is a widow and you both are here she would have to provide some serious proof of why she will come back (does she still work there, does she have property? anything of this nature would help show that will in fact come back).

      Hi

It is not a good idea to lie about nething to any extent. She can mention her children are in the US whom she wants to visit. She must state she has property(house) and family(her brothers and sisters) in India and must return.
In any case..always answer straight-forward & to the point and don't share extra information. She should be able to get the visa. A lot depends on the answers given at the interview. Nothing to be scared of as long as u present facts.

      All the best.
