Please help me- parents visa got rejected 3 times at chennai

My parent’s visa got rejected 3 times at Chennai consulate within last four months. I am expecting a baby in July 2007. This is the reason why they attended so many times. First time when they attended no questions were asked. So they tried second time, got rejected and third time, got rejected. Next time I am planning to send only my mom. I have following questions.
• Can my mom mention that I am expecting the baby during interview? They did not mention this in previous interview and VO never asked regarding my pregnancy. The reason I mentioned in the DS 156 was tourism and family visit.
• Is it a good idea to send her to the interview too soon for the fourth time?
• What is the chance that she might get a visa this time?
Please can some one answer my questions? I am parents are so disappointed and so am I. this might be the last try for my mom. I appreciate your help. Thanks in advance

Paper 1




1. VO:Why do you want to go to US?
Mom: (In Hindi) To visit tourist places and to meet my son.

2. VO:When do you plan to travel?
Mom She was a little elaborate here...since she is a school teacher) she explained that she would be going in May during summer vacations and return in July.

3. VO:What do you do?
Mom: I am a Asst teacher in YYYY school

4. VO: Where do you stay?
Mom: I stay at YYYY X in Mumbai.

5. VO: How many children do you have?
Mom: I have 2 children one son in US and one daughter in India.

6. VO: What does your son do?
Mom: He is working as a Software engineer in YYYY company

7. VO: And daughter?
Mom: She is studying architecture in YYYY X college, Mumbai.

At this point the VO was confused because he could not understand the difference between a boy("beta" in Hindi) and girl("beti" in Hindi). He called a lady for help. Lady explained the meanings..Now the lady started asking

8. VO: How old is your daughter?
Mom: 20 yrs.

9. VO: Is she married?
Mom: No. She is studying and dependent on me. (I think VO wanted to verify that she is dependent on my mother. He seemed to be satisfied with that)

10. VO: Who is going to sponsor your trip?
Mom: My son. (At this point my mother started showing sponsorship documents, but the VO said it was not needed).

11. VO: How long do you want to go to US?
Mom: 2 months starting in May

12. VO: Where are you going to visit in US?
Mom: (My mother thought that he wanted to know what places she wants to visit). She replied New York, Niagara, Disneyland etc.

13. VO: No, but where exactly are you going in US?
Mom: YYYY X in YYYY state.

14. VO: How long has your son been there?
Mom: Since YYYY months

15. VO: Are you travelling alone?
Mom: From my house, yes I am travelling alone.

16: VO: Where will your daughter stay while you are away?
Mom: With relatives(grandmother, uncle etc.)

17. VO(again) : Why do you want to go to US? (Not sure why he asked this question again...
Mom: To visit tourist places and visit my son..

18. VO: OK. Yor visa has been issued and you will get your passport in next 3 days.
Mom: Thank you (smiling)
VO(smiling)

(To Mother) Do you work ?

I see that you have a sister in the US. How long has she been there?
Then why did u not visit her in all these years?
("We could not afford it at that time" was all that my mother answered and the VO accepted it)

So now you want to go and visit your son. Great . Have a good vacation.

Paper 3

Mom and Dad : Good morning

(vo asks for the required papers and looks at them)
vo: Why do you want to travel to the US?
Dad: Its been xxx years that we haven’t seen our son and daughter in law, we want to see her and also want to visit some places in the USA.

VO - Who is arranging your trip?
Dad: My son who lives in
(this is also written in the invitation letter and addifavit I-134)

VO: how many kids do you have ?

VO: Is he married ?

VO: Where is your son working?

VO: Whats his annual pay?

VO: What does your son do?

Does your Son/daughter have any kids?

VO: Where is your daughter in law working?

VO: Whats her annual pay?

VO: What does your daughter in law do?

VO: How long do you plan to stay in the USA?
Mom: x months,
(both of their leave letters show x months,)

VO: Are you staying in a rented house?
Dad: We own the house that we live in

VO: Do you have a car or a 2 wheeler?
Dad: one two wheeler

VO: Do you work?

VO: How much do you earn?

VO: (Starts adding both their salaries and then asks for salary related documentation)

no, just the two of us live alone

Someone was asked " If you get offered a job in the US will you take it"
Ans: No , i am going there on a visitor visa and cannot work.

yes we do, xxxx ( about to show the affidavit but VO didnt ask them to do so )

I used to...but nothing these days....

Q2 Who is going to take care of your visit? They showed the documents then where I had exclusively mentioned that I will be sponsering.
Q3 When are you going and why in April so my mom told that since its a good season there.
Q4 Why was visa rejected last time. I had told my mom to tell them that tell some documents related problem and after she told that the lady at the counsulate still ask who was with u..then my mom tell her son (my bro) then she tell i m giving you the visa but dont stay more than 6 months. My mom told her we will only go for 3 month (thats what mention in the document)

Buddha! Thanks for your replay. My dad is retired and i have a elder brother who is not married and living with my parents and working.
First interview: only 2 questions were asked.
What does my brother do? What did he study?
Second interview:
How much pension my father gets?
How many months do they want to visit me?
Lady VO saw the pension paper. Again asked about my brother.
VO asked to show ration card. And after that she rejected the visa and rejection reason was low income. But my father has other sources of income, other than pension. My father tried to explain that but she was not interested to see those papers. My father has rental income and agriculture income.
Third interview:
This time they asked about me. Like where do I work and what kind of work I do. They saw my dad’s bank statements and passbooks. My dad has almost 5 lacks in his bank account and they were not deposited in one time. They also saw my dad's income tax papers for past two years. His income in past two years is almost around 5.6 lacks. So he has both financial ties and family ties. But I do not know why they are hesitating to granting the visa to my parents.
So this time I am planning to send only mom. Is it a good idea to send her alone? And is it a good idea to disclose about my pregnancy? Will it help if I present a letter from my gynecologist stating that I have some complication during pregnancy and I need some moral support? Please advice.

My mom got a visa when she went alone

We were in the same situation because my sister was pregnant. My mom went alone and she got the visa. However, now my dad is not getting a visa. But if you want a stop gap solution, sending mom alone might be a good idea. good luck.

shilpa123, its suicidal to tell that yu r pregnant. If you say that yr mom will defenitely be rejected. Its a lie. But she will be in a better position if she doesnt mention yr pregnancy.
