Hello all,
My mother attended her B-2 visa interview yesterday. She got rejected for the second time on the grounds of 214(b). Both I and my sister live here in US. I am a student while my sister is married to a H-1B guy and is on a H-4 dependent visa. She quoted that she wanted to attend my graduation ceremony this May and then meet my sister and spend 2 months in US. Also, she stays alone in Chennai. She is a pension holder. As she was not able to show any strong ties, her visa has been denied for the second time. She actually said that her aged parents are living with her. But that didn't help either.
I am very much shocked, depressed and clueless that her visa has been denied again. So is my mother. I don't know how she will get her visa the next time. I don't know what kind of reasons, I can give for her to show strong ties in India. This time we showed enough financial properties and assets worth 30-40 lakhs besides a very valid reason for her to visit US. But it didn't help at all. How should I deal with this matter next time. Has anyone had similar experiences?
The gap between her first and second interview was 4 months. I thought I can ask her to apply again in the next 10 days so that she can attend my graduation. She has also bought tickets. But I don't know if she would get if I am going to apply so soon.
Your suggestions, opinions and advice on this matter would be very helpful. Eagerly looking forward to your help.
Thanks and Regards,
Prasad.
