Situation -
- I work for a multinational in India (26/m/single/B1B2 visa holder)
- My mom lives with me and grand mom (widow/40 lakhs property)
- Sought mom's B2 visa.
- The plan was my mom would stay with my aunt (her sister in law) but my mom and I would pay for airtickets and other expenses. So we put "Sister-in-Law and Self" for sponsorer.
In the interview -
- VO asked directly for sister-in-law's documents.. and nothing else (like her property or my salary or employment certificate etc.
- He surfed through sponsor docs.. when he looked at tax returns, he asked for 2002 documents as well (we had provided from 2003 - 2006).
- Then he rejected Visa under 214(b)
Questions -
- What are the chances that my mom will get the B2 visa second attempt?
- When is the right time to reapply?
- Has anyone else heard of this reason that VO needs five years' tax returns?
- Will it help if I put self as sponsor and just mention aunts address as place of stay (will I still need to show aunt's paper work)?
Any ideas most appreciated.
