Terrified...ds-156 Correction

Hello,

My father has the visa interview at Chennai Consulate in the first week of May. Just yestreday we found out that in the DS-156, the following....

Business Phone number - left blank
Fax number - left blank
Fax number business - left blank
pager number - left blank
Name & address of present employer or school name - left blank (he is retired)
Address - left blank

Iam really terrified now. How do they correct this? The appointment is already taken. Can they modify online? Or can they write 'NONE' in pen/pencil? Iam very very tensed now. What do i do? PLEASE HELP ME AS TO WHAT CAN BE DONE FOR THIS.

I don't see any problem. If your father has no business contact information and the auto generated form left them blank, there is no problem.

The reason iam tensed regarding the blank space is that i have heard that for all the questions u have to have an answer...(i.e, if nothing applies, we shud atleast put "none") This is really eating me up.

Also iam worried as to this shud not be the reason to reject my dad's visa (something like incomplete application and stuff) So now, can he amend the ds-156, by putting 'none' to those blank spaces? Is it allowed? How shud it be done?

From the document preparation step, i have been relying on immihelp.com. So please help me in this regard.

That guidance is generally applicable for paper applications where people may leave something blank even if something was supposed to be put there. That problem is not relevant in online application where the software checks everything.

Therefore, nothing to worry about.

as the admin points out not to worry if u r filling it online...'caz there is no other way u could have filled in the question since it grey's out the fields.....

i can't thank enough...i with the help of you all was able to book an interview date for my parents for 24th may in chennai embassey(hindi translator). I kept on checking for dates as their were not available and then around 1 am i checked and was able to get one...

thanks once again and i'll let u know what happens next when they go for their interview.....
