passport -name difference-pls help

I applied for my parents visa interview next week.I'm on h4 and my husband is sponsering them.
My mom's name in my passport is pxx gxx kxx where as all her douments,passport and my birth certificate has pxx axx gxx kxx

One word in her first name missing in my passport.
Will this be a problem...I'm worried .....what to answer if VO points out this question.
Is there any thing they can do about this..

Did anyone face this kind of problem..?

It generally should not give any problem.

Your mother can do any of the following:

1. Make the correction with the Passport office

2. There is a column in DS156, where it asks to give the other surnames and other first names and middle names used ( Column nos. 8 and 9 ), there you can give the full name of your mother

Remember! if you have already scheduled the interview for your parents, you need to cancel them to make any modifications in the first 14 columns of any of the applicant.
