  • Ration card question

My parents have their interview in June 3rd week.

1)My parents' ration card has expired in 2006, and I beleive there's no way they can renew it now because of the recent government rules. It seems that the government issues ration cards only to people below poverty and they will not renew the ones that were issued earlier. Is it still okay for my parents to show this expired ration card when asked by the VO ?

    2) My parents have 4 children - 3 daughters and 1 son. My eldest sister's (eldest child to my parents) name is not mentioned in the ration card. Instead my cousin's name is mentioned in the card along with we two sisters (including me) and brother's name, as my cousin used to reside with us long time back. Will this be a problem, if my parents are questioned as to why their eldest daughter's name is not mentioned in ration card ?

and how come my cousin's name is included when she is no longer with us?

If all these are asked by VO please advice as to what to answer?

    1. That's fine.
    2. That's fine. No problem. When girls get married and go to husband's place, their names are taken off from father's ration card. That is very normal.
