Visitor visa for my mother

Hi All,

My mother appeared for Tourist visa on Mar 7th and her visa was rejected stating that she has no ties in India and would not return back to India.

She is a widow and currently does not work in India. But she is financially independent and have properties in India. Myself and my brother are residing in US. I am on H1-B visa and my brother is on F1 visa.

We very much want our mom to visit us and would like to re-apply for her visa. Please let us know what could be done to improve her chances of getting the visa.

Would truly appreciate any pointers/suggestions.

Frankly, very hard because the 2 of you are there in US and I assume she has no children in India.

Let me know her age, education and work experience.
Maybe I can think of something.

Yes. We are the only two children here. She is 50 years old, B.Sc graduate and has been involved in financial accounting of my dad's business.

Please provide some pointers.

Visitor visa process is not a rational one. They have preset situations in mind where it is very hard like widows with no children in India. There are reports of such applicants getting the visa after several attempts but
that takes a toll on one's self respect.

*I suggest she engage herself in some occupation like she did for her husband.
And show some income on a salary slip or by a tax return.
If you have relatives in business, you can request them to provide documentation that she has been working with them in a permanent capacity
and her role is very important for their business.
*Also, show any other ties like grand parents she has to take care of
or any other property that she takes care of.
*Also, show evidence that one of you will return like purchasing commercial property in India to settle down etc.



That is the best you can do, if she is still denied, I suggest you look around for an employer in US who can file an h-1 for her. For H-1 , she does not have to show evidence that she will return. It may not be easy but that is the only option you may have left.
She has a bachelor's degree , and is working age, so if you try hard, you may find an employer.
