  • tourist visa reapply question..

    Hi,
My mom's visa got rejected on june 4th.
We are planning to reapply for her by the end of this month.
In the interview, they have asked some basic questions like "who is in USA?"
"How many kids does she have ?""how long she wish to stay in USA?"etc.
My mom is getting Pension from SBI as my dad passed away 12 years back.
    She has said everything clearly.
The Visa Officer didnt even ask or see any other documents ..but said that there is no enough ties back home and rejected her visa.
My question is "since they didnt see the sponsor's documents and applicant's documents,is it necessary to give more information or additional documents for economic ties in India for her second appointment or just furnish the same documents with which she appeared during her first appointment?"
It seems that she had told that she would like to stay with us six months so that she could see various tourist places.
Should I have to advise her to say the months as 4 during her next interview.
    Please kindly help...

The visa process isn't a document-based process. You can show up with 200,000 documents and won't make a difference. The only question that has to be answered to the consular officer's satisfaction is: "what guarantee do I have this person is going to come back and will not stay illegally in the US?"

If your mother has nobody else in India and only a pension to return to, compared to staying in the US with her sons and daughters . . .

Is she active in the community? Does she have ties to a church/community service? Anything that would prompt her to return instead of staying?

If not, she's not going to get a visa any time soon.
