Dear Immihelp users,
My parents Visitors VISA application got refused recently. The reason they gave is that they could not prove their strong family, financial ties backhome. Their interview details:
Officer: Are you sure you put in all the details correctly in your application form?
Father: Sorry madam. I am not sure. (I think this was their first mistake, lack of confidence).
Officer: What is the name of your business? (Parents had not mentioned name of business in form, 2nd mistake)
Father: XYZ.
Officer: What was your turnover last year?
Father: xyz
Officer: what was your profit last year?
Father: 10% of investment.
Officer: Dont give me percentage, tell me figures.
Father: XYZ.
Officer: Where did you go in 2006?
Mother: Egypt
Officer: How long?
Mother: 10 days.
Officer: Where does your elder daughter live?
Mother: In India (mentioned State)
Officer: How many children does she have?
Mother: 2 kids.
Officer: When did your younger daughter get married?(I am the younger daughter)
Mother: 2.5 years.
Officer: When did she go to US?
Mother: 1.5 years.
Officer: How long do you intend to stay in US?
Mother: 3-4 months
Officer: Is your daughter pregnant?
Mother: No
The issue: As pointed out, my parents had missed out on mentioning the specifics about their business name and also about myself being in US in their forms. But the concern now is reapplication. We can work upon the technical mistakes. But the issue is that I am pregnant. I was hoping that my parents could be with me after my baby since I will still have one last semester to complete towards my MS. Also, what is important to my case is that my husband already graduated and is currently working in a different city in US. We were told that never mention that you want to go baby sit your daughter's baby or for your daughter's pregnancy. Thats the reason my mother said No. But now if asked again what should we do? Should I send documents from my doctor here asking her to request the consulate that I would appreciate family help in my last semester of study with a baby. Or should we keep it a NO. The reason I am scared is that now if we say YES its going to be mean that my parents lied in the first attempt, which the COnsulate is really sensitive to.
ALso, since they gave one reason as dont have strong family ties bak home, is it advisable to apply only for my Mother's VISA now, so that she can say that she can say that she needs to come bak for my father.
I am in such a crisis rite now since I need to get done with my MS and this last semester of next Spring looks like unattainable without family support.
Is there anyone who can help me on this situation? I would truly appreciate any help and suggestions in this regards.
