  • Parent's Visitors visa queries... help pls

    Hi,

I want my parents to come over and be with me during my delivery. I would be applying for my parents visitors visa soon. My husband would be sponsoring for their visit. I have a couple of queries, any input on these would be appreciated. Thanks

    1. My husband does not have his birth certificate, but i do have mine, is this okay?? Or else what other documents can he produce??

    2. My husband and i came here on J1/J2 visa for a year and later since his project extended we stayed over and have not been able to visit home. Now its 2.5yrs since we came here, will this pose a problem for my parent's visa??

    3. My elder brother is in UK and younger brother is in Australia, so none of my parent's children are with them. They had visited my bro in UK last year. Will this cause a problem, bcos of in sufficient family tie ups?? Can they say they will return to arrange my younger bro(their younger son's) wedding.
My dad is retired and owns a house and other property in his name. Will this help?? Also since he is not getting any pension, he is not paying any income tax after his retirement, is this ok??(he is paying all his property tax correctly).

    4. Is it okay to mention about my pregnancy or should we avoid that and just say that since its been more than 2years they have seen me, they would like to visit me and spend some quailty time and also visit places around.

    5. My husband's J1 visa is expiring in Dec 06 and he is now applying for his H1, so by the time they visit us my husband's visa status would have changed, will this pose a problem??

1.Send your Birth Certificate and Marriage Certificate. These documents establish that you are their daughter and your husband their son-in-law. That is the purpose of these documents.

    2. Not a problem in fact your parents can mention that they have not seen you for 2.5 years, hence the purpose for this trip.

    3. This is a difficult question to answer because it does reduce ties to India but also shows that they have traveled to visit their son and returned. have plenty other documents related to family and property to establish ties.

    4. The general view is to avoid raising that topic. But dont lie if asked directly.

    5. Did he get J1 waiver to apply for H1. Thats just a curiosity question. It normally does not matter if the sponsors visa is about to expire.

      3. What other documents related to family can they produce?? None of my grand parents are alive, but all my parents bros n sis are in bangalore. Should they mention about this?

      5. We had "2 year home stay does not apply" stamped on our passport when we came, so dint had to get a waiver, infact that was the reason we avoided going home.

      Thanks again

        3. They should mention that and carry documents related to economic ties. Job / business/ property/savings/investment etc

Thanks again for ur reply. I have a few more queries..

1.My father's name has always been 'Krishna' only, he never had any intials or any surname in his school certifiacte, jobs, bank, property documents. And the same appeared in his passport too. He visited UK with the same passport, but later we realised since he doesnt have a last name it might cause a problem while visiting US, so he made an affidavit and added his father's name and changed his name in passport to 'Krishna Ram Setty'. But hasnt changed the name in all other documents like bank, property papers etc. He has both the new and the cancelled old passport with him and a xerox copy of the name change affidavit. Is this enough to convince that both names are of same person or do we have to get another affidavit done??

          2. My birth certificate has my name as 'K. Dost' but the name in my passport is 'Dost Krishna' Is this ok?

          3. My birth certificate has my father's name as 'Krishna' and now his name in passport is 'Krishna Ram Setty' and also my mother's name in the birth certificate has an missing 'h' in her name. Is this ok?

          4. My mother's passport has my father's name in her spouse's name as 'Krishna' only. But now his new passport has 'Krishna Ram Setty'. So while filling her visa application form, in her spouse's name column should i write 'Krishna' as mentioned in her passport or should i write 'Krishna Ram Setty' as mentioned in his new passport?? Confused....??

          5. My mother's name in passport has all her name and initials expanded in Given name itself and the surname is left blank... While filling the visa application should i write NA for her surname????
