Case details:
1) My dad's brother's family is in US (Brother is GC holder, his wife a US citizen).
2) Dad's brother and family had come to India recently for a family visit.
3) Dad's brother's wife (i.e. my dad's sister-in-law) was the sponsor.
4) My parents took help of a Marathi translator at the time of interview at Mumbai consulate.
5) My parents are retired.
Questions:
1) Who is sponsoring your trip?
2) VO asked for form I-134.
3) Why you want to go?
ANS: Tourism: To see America. (We knew this Q is going to come since dad's brother and family had visited India very recently and hence my parents made sure they do not answer "we want to visit brother and family in US".
4) To dad: When did you last meet your brother and family?
ANS: In ABC month of last year when they visited us in India.
5) Who is there in your family and what they do?
ANS: 2 children, 1 grandson: All stay in India with us. Specified what the children do.
6) VO asked for proof of income and property?
7) To dad: What was your salary before retirement?
8) Which places you plan to visit in US?
The Marathi translator did a namaste and said "Tumhala visa milala ahe. Maja kara!" ("You have been granted visa. Have fun!")
