  • Parents visa got rejected 5 times in Chennai.. please help...

    Hi,

My parents visitor visa got rejected 5 times at US Consulate in Chennai. My brother and me are the only children for my parents. We both are in USA. My brother(green card holder) sponsored the first 4 times and I(H1B) sponsored 5th time. My father is farmer and mother is house wife.

The main reason for rejecting visa is both children in USA.

5th time my mother alone went for visa. Even though they rejected.

Visa Officer didn't look any documents all the times.

I am planing to take appointment again.

Can anyone please give valuable suggestions for my mother next appointment.

    I really appreciate your help....

    Thanks

Do not worry my parents also got rejected 5 times but we did not lose hope- same reason both daughters are in USA. I would suggest giving a 6months to 1 year gap. Also, explain the genuine reason for visiting. Good luck. We can only do our best and pray that the officers are reasonable. My best wishes to your parents.

        Thank you...

Thank you... Initially my parents took 3 appointments within 4 months gap. After that we maintained 1 1/2 year gap for 4th and 7 months gap for 5th time....

I am also praying for the same......

        Thank you....

          Gap between appointments ----

Whether you have a gap of 1 year or 1 month between appointments, the AMCON officer has all the information right in front on the computer monitor.

Your rejection may be a specific reason, try to find the reason and consult a senior attorney.

I think you should be able to re-apply within a short time. AMCON does not care too much about it as they make money off each and every application and re-application.

          Good luck.

          Persistence does help.

            Thank you

My mother asked VO the reason for not issuing the visa during her last inetrview.

VO told that if both children are in USA, we can't issue the visa as per the rule.

I don't know whether that rule is true or not?

            Thanks

My parents have got rejected 5 times too. But it has never been specified to them that because of both their children being in the US, they were denied a visa.

No one has made a rule like that!

                Hi all,
There is no rule that says if both the children are in US, the visa will get refused.
Look into each case to see, if they have stronger ties back in their countries.

The Consulate is looking only for this: Will this person come back from US?

                  Senator's assistance helped

Read this thread where the person in Hawaii got local Senator's office to help them for their parents visa which was earlier rejected.

Please do note that not all state's senator's may be as helpful, however with the elections coming up next year, your changes are good.

                  Best wishes and good luck.

                    hi,
sorry to hear about your disappointment...i posted the thread about senator's help here in Hawaii after getting rejected twice for my mom's visa. read my post and see if you can come up with a new strategy. i have read many many posts from folks that got visitor's visa even though both or all children are in USA. the good plan is to come up wtih as many reasons (both good or not so good) as possible, why they would go back..and write up a cover letter.
what are the time durations for your visa applications? although, it does not seem to make a big difference at all. did you contact BOTH of your senators? if it does not work out wtih one, try the other. it has to be your local senator...or try the congressman..can you explain the steps you took each time? were the documents looked at each time? try writing a cover letter this time with big bulleted points, explaining why she would go back...tell your mother to insert that letter on TOP of all the main documents that she hands over to the officer at the window...make sure she does not give it to the people that check the documents when she first goes in, but after that when she gets those back in a file folder to go wait for her actual interview. this is when she slips the cover letter on top of all those returned main documents she takes to the officer. so, when the officer opens that folder, that cover letter is right in front of him, no reason not to see it and read it. make sure you state the points clearly and simple. the many reasons you can come up with the better. im my mom's case, other this Senators help thing, that was the only letter that was thoroughly read by the officer and it made total sense to him...if you want, i can post the rough draft i wrote here (if its allowed) or send it to you..let me call my Senator's office and see if they are willing or usually help cases in other states.

where do you live? try and think of good reasons like grandchildren, land, home, family members, or try applying for each parent at a time separately and use the other parent as the tie back...

most of all, do not loose hope, i recently read a post that said, their parents were rejected 7 times, before getting it on the 8th time...who knows what their logic is at times?

like someone else said, persistence sure helps here..

                    aloha.

                          Thank you Maui....

Thank you very much for your detailed reply. I live in Maryland. I will try to contact my area senator/congressmen. I am not sure whether she/he is going to help.

VO didn't look any documents all the times. 5th time my mother only attended interview eventhough no luck.

Could you please send the cover letter draft to [email protected].

I am planning to take appointment for my mother alone again in Sepetmber/October.

I really appreciate your help and suggestions in this regard.

                          Thanks

Can you send me the cover letter? [email protected]

My parents were refused twice and then my mother applied alone, and she got refused again.
