Mis-match of Mother Name in Spouse Passport.

Hello,
I'm planning to bring my mother-in-law to US.
Problem is : Mother's name in last page of my spouse passport (UMA RAVINURI) is not matching with name in mother-in-law passport (UMALATHA RAVINOOR). And same case with father's last name too. Also some of the supporting documents may also have mismatch of her first name.

Visa interview is scheduled on Aug 6th. Is this mismatch may end up in denial of Visitor visa ?
If question is asked, what would be the best answer ? Is there any way to update mother's name in my spouse passport in Indian Embassy in US?

Please help. Urgent!

That's fine. No need to get it changed.

Just write the other name in 'Other names used' in DS-156 form and if asked explain what is going on.
