this is a doctor 30 yrs, geting ready for an interview - tourist visa next month purpose being to complete medical licensing exam. i am being sponsored by my uncle who is a us citizen
any suggestions regarding documents needed will be geatly appreciated

First of all do not get sponsored.Do not even mention that you have an uncle in US. A US citizen close relative makes the officer think that he will help you settle there and you will not come back. Moreover, being sponsored by an uncle has another negative; it means you cannot afford the trip yourself which reinforces the presumption that you will not return. Even though going to take step 2 cs, or step 3
means you will ultimately live in US for long term training, the officer, to grant this visitor visa, must determine that you will return home . Returning is the foremost requirement by law for a visitor visa.

Other requirements;
* Book a hotel close to the test site. Carry test permit and hotel booking
printout.
* Show your own income in India to fund the trip. This is very important. (bank balances,salary slip, your own tax returns).
* employment cum leave letter in INdia. Show continuing employment after you will return.
* Show a short stay in US , say a week or so. If you get the visa,
the entry officer at US will at least give you a couple of weeks or even more.
* Take the USMLE step score reports you have passed.
* Take your degree/ transcripts from college.
* YOU WILL BE ASKED ABOUT YOUR FUTURE PLANS . DO NOT SAY YOU WISH TO SETTLE IN US. YOU WILL BE DENIED INSTANTLY. SAY YOU WISH TO RETURN TO SERVE INDIA AFTER RESIDENCY TRAINING.
