    My parents booked an appointment for 27-Aug-2007 than we realized that all the papers could be completed by then so we decided to change it. Today I tried to do it but it says that there should be 2 working days before you cancel your appointment.

    Is there anything we can do now. There is no way that papers would get ready by then. I can fax the supporting documents. we are still waiting for letter from bank. we have all other papers ready but still in USA. appointment is on monday 12pm 27-aug.

    What would happen if they could not make it to the appointment. Should they go there without complete papers? Can they request to move the date at the counter when they go for appointment on 27th? Please help

    FAQs--- Is it still true?

    I just read this on VFS site. Is this still valid? Is is a good idea not to show up at all. We are fine with paying Rs. 155 per person. Please Advice.

    I did not appear for my interview appointment, can I use the same HDFC receipt to schedule again?

    Applicants that have failed to appear for their scheduled interview appointment are considered as NO SHOW applicants. You need to reactivate your HDFC bank receipt a minimum of 2 working days after your scheduled interview appointment date:


    Visit any of our VFS application centre along with your passport and valid original HDFC bank fee receipt.


    Pay a service charge of Rs.155/- per applicant (inclusive of service tax@ 12% and education cess at .36%). This fees has to be paid at VFS application centre ONLY, in cash or via demand draft in favour of ‘HDFC bank a/c VFS’.

    Note: This fee is not to be paid at HDFC bank.


    You can then use the same HDFC bank fee receipt to schedule a new interview appointment within the validity period of the HDFC bank fee receipt (1 year from the date of purchase).


    Note: Applicant scheduled at Mumbai Consulate that are No Show due to non submission of documents to VFS may also apply for reactivation of their receipt.

      Same thing happened to us. The document didn't reach them on time and so they didn't go for the interview and 2 days later, they went to VFS and told them the reason for the same. VFS re-activated the receipt and we were able to book the appointment. Take the appropriate requirement and fee specified, when going to VFS.

      By the way, which consulate and language they have opted?

        They are going to Delhi Embassy and they opted for English language. My dad and brother have no problem with english but My mom may not be comfortable with the language. So my dad would help her.
        Hindi appointments were not available.
