Name typo

Hi
My father's passport has one spelling of his first name and my passport and school papers have a different spelling. Will that be an issue, I want to sponsor a visitor visa for him.

you're not submitting your passport's copies of pages that have your father's name.
this happens to a whole lot of people, don't worry.
i've known cases where the name's are entirely different.
