Last name not avl but visa has last name

Hi

I have one question regarding name in passport and visa. My father got a 10 years multiple entry visa but I have one doubt regarding last name.

In Passport.
First name is - ABC ZYZ
LAST NAME IS BLANK

In Visa Embassy put in this way
First name - ABC
Last Name - XYZ

Is this correct, they put midde name as last name in Visa, and he dont have last name in passport. Will this will create a problem in custom at us airport.

pl ask your father to fill in the I94 form as mentioned in the visa at POE. I have read this in some other forum: of course this not a legal advise.
