  • Inquiry on Visa

I was recently issued a Visitors visa by the consulate here in Kingston Jamaica. The visa was issued on the 17th of September 2007 and is a one entry valid until January 16 2008 but there is an annotation on the visa stamp that says: Travel to Disney, December 2007, stay 1 week. What does this mean? does it mean I can only travel in December and stay for one week even though my visa is valid for up to four months. I know I told the VO that I planned to visit Disney for 5 days in December but I want to travel before that and stay for about four weeks. I know it is the immigration officer at the port of entry that decides how long one can stay in the United States. Please advise me on how to proceed because I want to travel as soon as possible.

    Sincerely,

    You should travel in December.

And you can stay until the date stamped in your I-94 at the port of entry.

You should always tell the officer what you really are planning to do regarding your US trip.
