  • No Property! Will that work?

    Hi everyone,
Since the time my friends in US invited me for a short trip to US, i've been checking this site very regularly. I could not find a thread regarding sponsoring a friend so thought may be I should get some things clarified.
These are my family friends(a family) staying in US for almost 2-3 decades. They were here last year during the new years and have invited me this time for the same. I'm just looking forward to a short trip of 15 days during which I'll be staying with them and visiting some tourist places.

I'm still in the stage of making sure that I have all the required documents when I go for the interview.
For now, I have the following:
    1. Bank statements
    2. Tax returns for past 3 years.
    3. Leave sanction letter from my company (been working for more then 3.8yrs. now)
    4. Sponsor documents : one I-134 ,employment letter, invitation letter.

    My Questions:
    1. I don't have any property in my name but both my father and mother do.
    a.Can I in anyway show that ?
    b. If yes, in what ways(i mean the format)? Can you point me towards a post/page which talks about it ? In some threads I see people talking about affidavits, but they are for self and not for a child.

    2. As written above I've been working at my present job for almost 4 years and drawing a decent salary(6lacs/pa). However, I've not done much on the savings part.
a.If I say, I have around 1.5lacs in bank would that be enough? Or do I need some more?
b.If some more, what amount would be considered acceptable ?
c.I also have 3 credit cards with a lac limit each and a good credit record - is that helpful ?

I guess thats all i want to know for now.

    Thanks in advance.

Demonstrate family ties. Family ties are considered first preference by consular officers for a visitor visa. In absence of family ties you must rely on property and finance.

We do not have any property, but I am the only son out of 3 in US and they did not ask for any property etc. when my parents attended visitor visa appointment.

What VO is looking for at the time of interview is if you are a potential immigrant candidate. If you prove that you have sufficient ties in your home country by proving pictures of the family album, no property docs required.
      Good Luck to them
