Invitation Letter

I am applying for my in-laws visitor's visa (B2). The invitation letter has to be signed by myself or my wife? or do we have to write 2 seperate letters (one from me and one from my wife?
What about the application letter (to the consulate)? Do we need to follow the same procedure?

One letter signed by both will be great.

Same goes for the cover letter addressed to AMCON.
