Sponsor's H1 expiring in 3 months - Will Visitors be allowed for 6 montsh stay?

Hi,
First of all thanks to immihelp. My MIL has got visa but just for 1 year. Same case with a few other friends also, whose PIL attended interview in Kolkata consulate. Is this a rule in Kolkata consulate for B2? If not, then what circumstances they do like this way?

My, sponsor's, H1 expires in mid of March 2007 but applying for extension in Dec/Jan. My MIL will be coming on Nov 19th, 2007. Will immigration officer allow her for 6 months stay?

If the VO is not convinced of the intentions then this might happen, make the most of this opportunity, keep the stay short 3-4 months, wait 6-8 months and reapply.

Your H1 has no bearing on her stay here.
