Need help - please advise!!

Hi I am currently in the US and my I-94 expires Feb29,2008.. My plan is to go to Canada January as I am visiting my sister and she just bought a house and I would like to spend some time with her and go see calgary. I have both US and Canada tourist visa. My question is will I have to leave Canada before Feb29,2008? or does it mean I exited US and I can have the new length of stay that the officer of Canada will give me.. Please advise.. I plan to go back to the Philippines after Canada. Thank you!!

If you plan on leaving to Canada and not returning to the US on this trip, then turn in your i-94 before you leave and you will be able to stay in Canada for as along as Canadian Authorities allow you.

If you plan on returning, then yes, your visit to the US is only until Feb and you can not get a new i-94.

If your travel plan is leaving From Canada. Then there should be no problem.

Thanks preatorian that answered my questions. Just one more thing, is it ok to get a one-way ticket from US to Canada and also is it ok if I dont buy my return ticket yet from Canada-Philippines as I am not sure yet if I will stay there for 2 or 3 months and I hate rebooking penalties. thanks!

It is OK, just make sure you have a letter from your sister inviting you to Canada as proof.
