Tourist visa for my wife and kid

I am travelling to US for 4 weeks for a business trip.I have applied for my B-1 visa and my company is sponsring the Visa.I want to accompany my wife and kid along with me so i need a tourist visa.I do not have either tax returns or bank statements for my wife as she is home maker.

One of my friend is there and he is on H-1 visa there since last 1.5 years.I would like to know whether he can support my wife and kid by submitting affidavit of support.Please let me know if that is possible.

Or can my bank statements and tax return would do to get a visa for my wife.

Either you can or other person can provide support. It is fine either way.
