  • Visa Wait time in Mumbai for Regional Language

I have tried making appointment at mumbai consuate since September for my parents for visitor Visa in Gujarati/hindi/marathi language. In talking to the VFS helpline it seems like the appointment slots are not available. Is there any other way to find out when the appointments will be available?

We tried calling VFS call center to know details on this. Got reply from them that they open slots once they have enough resource. But did not give infomation when they open slot and is there any way to know it in advance.

Is there anyone here who got appointment for any regional lang at Mumbai recently?

I contacted VFS Mumbai for this. They said take appointment in English and at the time of interview ask for Translator.

I think they have some problem in the site / software

        All the best

When I asked VFS, they told me to keep trying for a regional language visa interview appointment. There was no suggestion of taking visa appointment in English and then ask them for a regional language translator just before the interview. Has anyone else heard about making a translator request just before the interview?

Keep trying.....that's what I did and got date for my in-laws for Gujarati language. Today only I got 9th Jan.
Make your application ready because date changes every minute.
            All the very best.

Thanks all for your reply. We daily check twice in vfs for appointments. We check aroun 7am IST and 9pm IST.

Looks like this is the only way to get appointment.

I made appointment today for my sister on Jan 8. Though I had to select English for interview language. Regional languages does not work. there is a flaw in VFS web portal ( A typical Indian website ).

I paid the deposit for visa fee back on September 1st, and I have been trying to get a regional interview date at Mumbai consulate ever since- it's been now 4 months of at least three or four attempts EVERYDAY without any luck. I am also so sick of entering the same visa application form and saving/losing it every week! I see that someone else just got an appointment- pretty much soon after I checked! Getting a regional visa interview appointment date seems to have even less chances than winning a lottery! Now I am very tempted to just skip their system (whether their website works or not) and just take an appointment in English and have a request made just before the interview for a translator like all these other folks have been suggesting.

As for taking English appointments... take them only if you wish to be interviewd in English and I would suggest doing that even if one person of the party speaks english in an adequate manner. But other wise refrain from doing so you will be denied visa and will be asked to reappear, paying fee again.

the reason the regional appointments are so hard to get is beacuase of supply and demand, there are very few such appointments available and people who dont really need them will take them thinking that gives them an upperhand.
