  • Students sponsoring parents

    Hi all,

I and my wife are students in a US university. My wife is graduting this may and has a job offer. She will be staring her job after her graduation. I will be graduating in August and not yet decided about my future. We had a baby recently. I want to invite my parents for her graduation and to see our baby. We are inviting them now. Since, my parents don't have big assests or money in bank, we are going to sponsor their trip. My wife and I have assistantship from university. Plus she has job offer detailing her benifits. We are going to get bank statements showing ~ 8000 $ in each of our accounts. Plus my dad will have documents of his agricultural land, which is not much. Do you see any problems for their visa approval since we are sponsoring?. Is it OK to show my wife's employment offer?. Assistantship letter is good to show or not?. Any inputs is greatly appreciated.

You need to show only what you have. A job offer will help in this case.

Also let your parents show their property documents and in the sponsor column in the DS-156, your parents need to mention, "Self & Son"
