  • B2 Reapplication - Rejected Once

    Hello,

I have a dilemma about my parents B2 reapplication and need some advice based on my case which I am detailing below.

I am on an L1 in the US for the last 3 years almost.

Parents: Dad, retired, 70+. Mom: Hw, 55+

First Time: I could gather that the rejection was due to the following reasons.
    1. Myself being the only child, they had no child to come back to.
    2. No Assets(home specifically)
    3. Not adequate balance shown in my AC here.

I guess we were not well prepared last time.

Things that will change this time.
    1. Balance will be adequate based on the immihelp's advice.
    2. There is a property in dad's name ( well shared among his siblings) that we think we can present.

    Questions:
    1. Should it be mentioned to the officer or written anywhere( IF NOT ASKED!!!) that this is a shared property? If asked, it will be told but my question is shd it be told if not asked? Will this information likely to change the mind of the officer?
    2. What are the chances and shd I go ahead with the reapplication

Thanks for helping me out here.

    1. The document will speak for itself. your parents need to take the original property documents when they go for the visa interview.
Always answer the question truthfully. Do not give any information that was not asked by the consular officer.

    2. It is not just property and a good bank balance that will fetch someone a visa. All thru their visa interview, they need to clearly demonstrate their intention of returing back to their home country after visiting you.
