Is it mandatory to mention visa petition information

Hi,

I have filed a visa petition for my Father in Aug-2007. I have read that its tough to get a visitor visa if we have filed for a visa petition for the same person. Is it ok to not mention about the pending visa petition on the I134 form. Would it cause an issue to the pending visa petition?
