Can I work as a tourrist?

Hey guys! I'm from Canada and I'm trying to plan a trip to the united-state for about 6 to 8 months. In this trip I'm just hopping to visit around the country and trying to work here and there to save up some money if I come to a point where I don't have anymore, so I can survive! I know I need some kind of Visa to stay that long in the united state but with the b2 visa will I be allowed to work legally? If not what other visa should I applied for?

No visitor visa will allow you to stay more than 6 months, and no visitor visa will allow you to work legally.
