need help for US Visitor's VISA
i wanna go for US on a visitor visa to take my USMLE step 2CS in march. i have my brother in law who holds a H1B visa and working there as an engineer.
in my visa application i have stated as i am going to stay with him in my US trip.
but the problem is his H1B visa got expired on dec 31st 2007. and he has applied for extension also. i have the photocopy of both expired visa as well as the application for the extension of visa which he has already applied.
he doesnt have the confirmation yet from the USCIS people. and thats is the problem for me. my visa consultant is saying, without that i am not able to convince the visa officer that i am going to stay with him as his visa has expired and he is waiting for the approval... as it usually takes minimum 3 months to get an approval....
now what should i do??? shall i take the present available papers of expired visa as well as the form in which he has applied for the extension and try my luck ???
in that form it says, it is not a confirmation that its a visa or he is going to get it...its just a caution.... but what my sister says is, when her husband is working there and earning money means its definitely not illegal and u dont worry about the visa consultant... u go ahead and give it a shot...
why i am in a hurry is i have already booked a date for my CS exam on march24 th in Atlanta. if i am not able to take it, i dont get a nearby date for sure... i have to wait for another 3 months minimum to get a date...
this is my problem..... kindly advice me what i should do now??? except that problem i have all other documents ready with me....
