  • Please advice - Birth certificate for interview

    Hi,

I am sponsoring my mother-in-law for the visitor visa. When she goes for interview, which birth certificate she should carry? My certificate or my wife's ? Please advice

Due to high fraud in India, they wish to make sure the host is actually the child of the person(s) applying. So your wife needs to send her bc showing her mother's name on it.

      Why not both?

I just explained why only one. Husband's bc is irrelevant. They are only trying to establish parent-daughter relationship.

No harm in carrying one...what if the VO asks at the interview?

Do as you wish, but ask yourself... why would the VO want the BC of the Son in Law? to prove what? that he is someone else's son? either way... the marriage certificate may be something she should have (between her daughter and Son in law).
