Travel on Visitor Visa when Sponsor is not in the US

Hi,

My elder sister sponsored my mother's Visitor Visa in Dec'2006.
My mother got a 10 year - multi-entry Visitor Visa but yet to travel to the US once.
Now, my sister's work assigment might be ending soon and she might travel back to India if her Company wants her to do so. If so, will my mother's Visa still be valid? I have a valid work VISA. Can my mother travel to my location in US? If so, is there any additional documentation to be carried while travel?

Yes, her visa is valid. An invitation letter from you (stating your information, address, phone, etc.) is all that is needed.
