  • april 01 will be my sked interview

hello immihelp. i am a housewife from the phils. 50 yrs. of age..my daughter , a legal permanent resident is inviting me to visit Ca..i wrote self-employed in my profession in DS-form156. since i am a realty agent, property, administrator, dressmaker, but i don't have list of my income, in case, The Consul Officer will look for it...and my husband is not going with me..
will i have a big chance to get the tourist visa? btw, i wrote 7 weeks in my trip duration.pls. help...! the last time i was denied was 1985.
my interview sked will be apr.01 2008...this time, i'm already mentally stressed.
btw, my daughter will deliver her first baby this june,,,and that's my reason on going there.

You will need to show your income, and property to show ties to your country. You will be denied or requested to bring more documents... most likely denied.

Also, Consular Officers are known to deny visas for "helping daughter to deliver baby" cases... because they believe it is "Taking away an american job".

Your chances will be better since your husband is not coming and that your daughter is only a permanent resident, but still... You need to bring enough evidence of ties to your country.

i have another questions, is it proper if i write my daughter's name and my son in law( us citizen) in my DS-156 FORM stating that they are the couples who invited and pay for my trip in US?

Yes. But in that case, they need to send you an I-134.

It is a normal reason, you must convince the Visa Officer though, not me.
