Does visa officer ask/take I134 when granted the visa ?

I-134 is asked for and kept by consular officers BEFORE granting the visa. Thats one of the most important document in your application packet.
BTW, why are you hesitant in handing them over the I-134?

Yes. They take the I-134 if it is produced. They will keep it to their records.
