I convert form a visitor visa to F1 while i am here in the US. I want to visit my home country. will this pose a problem? what do i need to take with me? can i be denied re-entry? If i am can i still use my visitor visa?

Yes you might face problems because the authorities might think that you misused a visitor visa to enter the country whereas your real intention was to become a student or an immigrant in the US.

Also, you will have big problems trying to convert from B2 to F1, UNLESS you notified the POE officer that your planned on doing so and he annotated your I-94 accordingly.

If you did not do this. Then go back home and apply for an F1 visa THE RIGHT WAY.
