Hi Sandeep,
I have a similar situation with my sister (to bring herto visit,but I am not married and have no kids yet ). some friends told me I need to show $15000-$30000 bank balance. is it true? and also I donot have life insurance. do i need to show them i have one in I-135 form?
Which section of the experiences did you post your sisters visa interview exp? I cannot find it.

Hi Pradyumna.

My understanding is amount more than 10+ in bank is ok.
In my case it was around 16-20K, and values of owned assets (car etc) was litttle more than half of it.

I did not understand your comment about life insurance. But I would advise to provide all correct information.

I imagine you meant I134 form when you meant I135 form. I don't recall having a field to indicate your own life insurance although I feel one must have it. Also if you are financially sponsoring your Sister's visit, it is best to put it clearly in field 11, that you will take care of all financial needs of her including domestic, international travel,lodging,food, her insurance (insurance: not required to have her insurance right now, but I highly recommend having it just before she is here so it covers her fully outside India)
You should also provide a letter addressing Consulate which also has a committment regarding this.
