My parents are applying for visa soon, and we noticed that there is an error in address in my father's passport, instead of house #113 it is written as house #3, and other minor errors. My question is that while filling ds156 forms should I fill the right address and house number or write whatever is in the passbook, there is no time to get the passport corrected now.
If i fill the correct information, can my parents verbally explain that by mistake it has been wrongly written in the passport, if the visa officer asks about it?

Always write the current address. The address in the passport does not matter. You can make changes once the form is filled upto 48 hrs before the appointment I believe.
