Hi

I'm a UK Citizen and im staying in the US under the visa waiver-I-94 this is my second time coming to the US , i had trouble getting in though because when i went back to the UK i was only there for 12 days and came back to the US , the boarder patrol officer told me i couldnt keep doing this and next time i go back to the UK i should apply for a Visa but i dont see anywhere that says i cant go back to my own country for so many days and come back to the US. So what i'm wondering is can they deny me entry ? or are they just trying to scare me cause i have read on other forums that they do this to alot of ppl.

The frequency of visits on a visa waiver or a visitor visa is not pre-set by law. But it must match the purpose of your visit. There are business people who enter twice or thrice / month for important conferences and they never face any problems. If you come back too quickly with a casual purpose, they can presume immigrant intent which is in direct conflict with entry on a visitor visa or the visa waiver program. The decision to let the person in rests on the CBP officer's discretion and people have been sent back.
