Correcting the name in the Passport!!!

Hi,

We are planning to bring my inlaws to USA.But here the problem is my Mother-in-law name written as 'VANAJAMMA' in my husband's passport and it is wriiten as 'VANAJA' in her passport and also in all other documnets. So we are planning to change her name in my husband's passport.

Please do help me out with the procedureand required documents to change her name in my husband's passport. Now we are in Chicago, IL. Can we do this in Chicago Passport office.

Doesn't matter ...

... that's okay. It will not affect anything.

If you're too worried and concerned write a letter with the explanation (short one!) and get it notarized.
