Hello everyone.
Back in 1997 I travelled to the US using a I-94W visa waiver but did not realise that I was required to hand the card back in upon departure.
I have only just noticed the card still in my passport and as I am now applying for a Diversity Visa, I'm worried that this oversight will damage my visa application.
I am in the process of collecting supporting documentation for when I return the card to the CBP by mail so they can update my record as departed on the correct date.
I was wondering if anybody here knows if it is still possible to write to the CBP (4 months after returning the card) for confirmation that my I-94W departure was recorded?
I know this definitely used to be the case but it seems they updated their Q&A section for this last month and removed this option:
I did not turn in my I-94 when I left the U.S., what should I do?
Thanks for any help you may be able to offer!
Dave.
