Visitor visa six month time frame calculation

Hi,

I want to know how six month time period is calculated by immigration officer at port of entry.

for example if visitor is entering on 15 th june 2008 then..

A) he will get visa till 14 th dec 2008 (six month) or....

B) visa till 9 th dec 2008 (180 days calculated from 15 th june 2008)

Please share your experience.I have to book tickets for six months as per option A or B

Generally it is based on calendar months and not by days from what I have seen. A seems right based on my experience.
