Has anyone bought medical insurance from India that worked well?

I have been reading the medical insurance related posts on the forum and the comparisons thereof. Has anyone had a positive experience with insurance bought from India for parents travelling to US- like Bajaj etc.

Just trying to understand if the expensive US company plans are really worth the price?

Please understand that there are two types of visitors medical insurance plans:
Fixed: Cheaper, limited coverage
Comprehensive: More expensive, much better coverage

Please note that most of the insurance products from Indian companies are fixed coverage plans for anyone above the age of 55 years.

Every experience is positive without a claim with any insurer. Problem comes only when it comes to claims payments. US based insurers are readily available by phone, for appeals, for complaints to State Insurance commisioner in case of denial that is unreasonable.

Out of country insurers, you are left without these options as they are not regulated.

This is my little knowledge about this subject and I hope I am right.

Even if it worked out well for someone in a rare case, in most cases, it didn't work out well for those who bought from India. (Of course, we are talking about those who had to use the insurance.)
