  • Going back to USA please help

in '06, I was in the US working at a non profit organisation.
    I was on a B1/B2 visa.(it said 1 year on it)

When I entered the US, the officer granted me 3 months and said I may apply for extension if I wanted to stay longer.
I applied for an extention, and was allowed to stay until they made a decision,
apparently the I-94 thing was "lost" , so I ended up leaving after 5 months because I wanted to go home.

    1. I plan to go back to visit my friends in 2009 for a few months, will the last trip of them losing my extention of visa affect my next trip?

    2. Is there any chance they can deny me into the US?

3.if the visa said 1 year on it, but the officer granted me 3 months, what does this mean? could I have stayed the 1 year without applying for the extension?

I finally found this forum and it has helped greatly, I hope you will reply

    1. Did they approve the extension or did you leave before they approved it? Lost I-94 is a big issue.
Write letter to ACS - CBP SBU, P.O Box 7125, London, KY confirming that you have left the United States and provide information clearly stating that you are now back in your home country. Also send them the original boarding pass used to leave the U.S, your E- Tickets, luggage tags, photocopies of passport pages with clear entry stamp from your home country, credit card/bank account statments displaying transactions made outside the U.S.A, a sworn affidavit stating so.

    2. Yes, a huge chance. You need to wait couple of months (3-4) after step 1 is done.

    3. No, Visa is just an entry document. The I-94 determines the stay.

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

I left before they approved it, because they sent a letter or email(i dont remember) saying it was lost.
so i left ,and there was no fuss at the airport of me leaving, they didnt question it

Also, I am from Australia, would I still have to send this info to the UK place?

The address is London, Kentucky, USA and is the address used by citizens of ALL countries who are in this situation.
