  • Vistorvisa (B2) rejected. Help me please

My parents (age: father 51, mother 48) went for vistor visa(B2) stamping in Chennai consulate on Jun

12, 2008. The visas were rejected.

my father was asked below questions (only one question):

consulate: Who are staying in USA?
Father replied: my son-in-law and daughter

my mother was asked below questions :
    1)
Consulate : How many childrens do you have and where are they now?
Mother replied : I have 2 daughters and 1 son. Elder dughter and son are living in India and Younger

    daughter is staying in USA.

    2)
Consulte: Where did your younger daughter study?
Mother replied: She did her P.G in hyderabad (Avanthi college)

    3)
Consulte: Where did your elder daughter study?
Mother replied: She did her Degree in hyderabad (Bharath Degree college)

After that she went through the documents and said "Try again"

    My question are:
    1) What might be the reason for rejection?
    2) Should they go for second time in month or two (I mean in Jul or Aug 2008)

    Pleas help me.

If there is no urgency for their visit, give more gap and try again. 6 months is the least I would suggest. There is a luck factor and may be the VO thought their answers were not straight forward.

How long have you been in the US? When was the last time you visited India?

I am not a lawyer and you need to consult with one to validate any info posted on the forum and discuss your case specifics. H1b Question? Read the FAQ first.

Did they mention a long visit? Given the ages of your parents, they should have jobs. Seeking an extended visit would be unusual for employed individuals.

        B2 Visa..

What does your father do. A lot of depend on how you filled up 156 and 157.
how they interacted with interviewer. you should not send them until their is change in circumstances. I would suggest you to wait for 6 months before you send them.

Few things needed to be watched.

          1. They needed to be confident and have eye contact when speaking with interviewer
          2. Purpose of visit should never be help for pregnancy.
          3. Ask for visit from 4-6 weeks.
          4. Proper clothing
          5. Handover documents even if they don't ask.
          6. some family photos and passport copies of childrens if available..

          thanks

Length of stay question is on the DS-156.

The information on the application form has been reviewed by VO before any questions are asked of the person. Contradicting the answers given on form is not a good idea. Make sure that they are familiar with the information if they do not read English.
