Regarding Funds for sponsoring US Visiting Visa

Hello,

My friend(working as software engg on H1 visa) in USA is sponsoring me Visiting Visa to USA. Can anyone please let me know how much amount of funds should be shown as bank balance?

If the applicant age is betw 18 - 30, and the sponsor is just a friend, no matter how much amt you show as bank balance, chances are high to get Visitor Visa rejected, under section 214(b).

IS it better to sponser the VISA in such a case or self sponser if the applicant has enough funds etc?

What do you do in India? Are you married? Any children? What are the ties to home country? It is important to prove ties to home country rather than a sponsor to get visitor's visa.
