We had applied for my mother in April 2008. But the officer denyed her visa. My husband is a US citizen, myself is a greencard holder. We have a 4 month old baby. Now we are going to invite her again. My mother is a widow. Will she get visa this time? As usually they give hard time giving visa to Widows. I really want her to visit us. Anybody can help in this....

She appears like a potential immigrant with her being a widow and you having an infant.

Even one of a retired couple with one remaining in home country can have difficulty getting a visa.

Trial costs you nothing. I have read in this and other forums, the widows initially rejected for visitor visas subsequently got the visas. Make sure to establish her ties in the home country. Good Luck.

It is wrong to say that your mother will never visit you in USA. As txh1b pointed out, please search success stories posted in this forum for widowed mother. If you loose hope, how can you prepare your mother for an interview. Please post her success story after the interview.

Thanks for your best wishes. Do we have to send all the documents again I mean invitation letter, I-134, bank statement etc. to my mother? My mother also has to prepare all the affidavits again? She already had deposited the fee at HDFC.

Definitely she must carry everything again - especially the affidavit of support.

Help her make a list of all the reasons she has to return to her home and help her rank them since the VO will not have time to review a long letter.

In my opinion applying again immediately after her rejection in April 2008 will not change the mind of the VO. I would suggest that you wait for some more time say 6 to 8 months and re apply completing all formalities as you have done earlier. You also must have got some clues from the successful visa stamping postings from this forum. Please add that to your advantage. I can understand your feelings but you have to live with the situation.
