  • No. of applications for Visitor visa to USA

    Hello,

I came to USA in April 2008 on H1B. I am having 11 mnths baby with me. I am planning to bring my in-laws here to take care of my child. My husband is in H4 doing some training here. He is a doctor. Is there any possibility that my in-laws can get the visa.

Also, should I prepare 2 different visa application forms or just 1 for both of them.

    THanks in Advance.
    Geetha.

no. Your parents can NOT come to the US to serve as baby sitter. You need to hire a baby sitter in the US or childcare services.

No, they absolutely may not a get a visa for that reason.

It is not appropriate for you to bring your family members to babysit your child on a VISITOR visa. You need to arrange for professional child care or your spouse must remain at home to care for your infant.

There are numerous discussions on this forum regarding this topic. You may say that its is typical in your country for grandparents to babysit while the parents work. That may be true but it is not permitted in the US on your - or their - visa status.

You are planning to be a guest worker in the US; be a good guest and do not participate in or encourage illegal activity. If you cannot do so, you should not enter the US.

No No.. Its not only for taking care of the child. I am already leaving him in day care only. But they want to visit USA for tourism purpose as well. They can stay here instead of staying in hotels.

If this is the case, they should apply in a year or two after you have had a chance to get settled and have earned some paid vacation time. If you are newly arrived, you will not have time to show your family the tourist sites.

No matter where you live, there are unlikely to be that many tourist sites within a daytrip of your home for an extended stay. Even if you live in Orlando, someone can go to the parks only so many times before becoming bored.

You can apply for your in-laws visitor visas. Show strong ties in their home country. It will be better to show if they have properties and substancial bank balances in their account. During their first visit, they can visit you for 2 or 3 months and visit interesting places. Since, your husband is free because he is on H4, he can show them around.
